Week 2- Provo MTC
Minasan Genki Desuka?! (Is everyone good?)
The first week of MTC has been crazy and a lot of fun! So much has happened this past week and everything feels like a blur. But the highlights are 100%
-Saying Goodbyes
-KANOA AT THE MTC?!?!
-Hanging with the district ちょうろうs
-Working out in the MTC
-Japanese Word of the week + Story
So of course I had to say goodbye to a lot of people which was super sad. After my farewell talk (you can listen to it below. don't mind the crying in the background) I had to say goodbye to a lot of family and friends as I flew off two days later. Then before entering the MTC some BYU friends came up to see me off as well. I was extremely sad but had to put on a good face so everyone would no cry and get all emotional.
Checking into the MTC hit like a train and it didn't stop, almost the second I got out of the car I saw one of my friends Kanoa walking over to greet me. It was honestly such a blessing to see him so soon and the timing was perfect as he got to check me in and help me get settled in exchange for some rancheritos food. He definitely made checking in more enjoyable but unfortunately I had to see him off that night as he headed off to portugal for his mission. But I was able to give him a blessing and say goodbye. Im honestly so excited for him because I know he'll be a great missionary.
I also finally got to meet my district in person. They are all really cool people and our teachers are awesome as well. It made the MTC a lot more bearable but some of them may think I don't get enough sleep because for the first two days I was having trouble staying awake during classes and devotionals. But eventually I was able to sleep early and catch up to speed. Being with my district I feel extremely blessed to get to know them better as we all come from different backgrounds and situations and being in person with them is definitely a lot more fun!
Working out in the MTC is definitely interesting, I feel like with the schedule theres no time but we've managed to squeeze in some sessions. Its so cool how Im able to stregthen myself physically and spirtually. Although I wish I had more time to workout I definitely have not missed out on my cardio with walking all around campus and up and down all the stairs. BUT だいじょぶ。。
SO japanese word of the week is つみ/つみびと which means sin/sinner. Our district used these words a lot as we were teaching eachother about the atonement. My lesson in japanese went as such: わたしわつみびと。あなたわつみびと。でもすくいぬしのあがないによつてわたしたちはえいえんのいのちおうけることができます。
I am a sinner. You are a sinner. But throught the saviors atonement, we can receive enternal life.
However our district has found another use for the word. The second anyone makes a minor mistake or goes on their phone, they will get bombarded with つみびと! More as a fun joke but it also holds us accountable for our actions as well :)
P.S. any incoming missionaries. The food SUCKS bring as much snacks as you can and please share with me.
