Week 14- I Know That He Loves Me
Aloha 皆さん、
How's everyone doing? It's been a pretty good week overall for me. Interesting for sure but super fun. Christmas is coming up and I've seen so many blessings in my everyday life, I honestly need to get on top of Journaling fr. Today I wanted to talk about Heavenly Father's love though. With one of my favorite scriptures to share. 1 Nephi 11:16-17. In this scripture an Angel is showing Nephi a vision and in verse 16 the Angel asks Nephi a question.
-16 And he said unto me: Knowest thou the condescension of God?
17 And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things.
I always love sharing that scripture regardless of who you are because it's so simple and yet so powerful. It shows us that even though we are not perfect and we don't know everything, but as long as we remember that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us, that is enough. I do share it a lot though and Elder Peña gets annoyed sometimes because I always share that scripture with people but I think that it's something everyone needs to hear. No matter what situation we may be in, being reminded that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us will help us in whatever way we need. Because sometimes we forget that. I know I definitely forget it sometimes but as I've gone through the week I saw his hand in my life through the fun experiences I had and the small joys I felt throughout the week. I encourage you all to remember that throughout your week, I promise it'll definitely help :)

Skinner family pt.2:
This is super funny because the Skinner family asked to be put on my email list. So….. yeah they'll see this but still gonna share with you guys how much I love em all. So me and Elder Peña are basically at the Skinner's house all the time at this point. It's super awesome and we love being there. They always welcome us in and they help us a lot with missionary work or just small stuff in general. Anyway, this week I made Ramen with Cole (the youngest). It was gas but we're gonna run it back during Christmas with all the works inside. I'm talking green onions, spam, garlic, egg, nori, butter. It's awesome Cole loves a lot of food I like but we gotta get em into vegetables fr. We also helped them (barely) put a tarp over their RV and I was able to get a haircut while I was there. Which was sick because my hair was growing atrociously. Also was talking with Miles and figured out he was still a sophomore so we talked about how I'd be back for his graduation he said I'd be back for his farewell (for a mission) too. I was super stoked about and it's such a blessing because I will literally be 30ish minutes away from them and I'll always be in Saratoga all the time too. Just a blessing that comes with being assigned to Orem Utah LES GO.
Cali, nails, hellcat:
We got to do another lesson with Cali and her family again which was sick! The Dad wasn't there that time though so unfortunately no hellcat ride for us. We rescheduled with them though so we should be getting another hellcat ride and it's warmer too so we'll definitely be going faster. I'm also making sure my go pro is charged for that because it's SO sick. Anyways we promised Cali and her little sisters that next time we come over they can paint our nails while we teach them. Which is hype because we have a Christmas Eve devotional with the whole mission (i think) so everyone will see how slay we are.
Stephen:
I LOVE STEPHEN LESS GOOO. We've been teaching Stephen since I've been here and apparently at first he was a bit bashy but since I met him I wouldn't have been able to tell. Stephen comes from a methodist background but I always feel the spirit when we teach him and he has such a strong testimony too. So anyways I was really thinking about Stephen and we had a lesson with him and we planned it to lead to a baptismal invitation. We started off this week's lesson with bearing our testimonies and then asked him to share his, which he did. It was so powerful and we could all really feel the spirit. So then I shared a scripture with him Alma 5:62, which is gas you should all read it. Then I had a heart-to-heart with him. I told him how much we care about him and how powerful the spirit is when we visit and I invited him to be baptized. I swear I was tearing up but he took some time to think about it and said “I don't know” which was awesome because it wasn't a no! He said like he felt like he was still learning and I asked him to pray and seek guidance from the holy ghost about his answer and to follow that prompting no matter if it's to be baptized or take time to learn more! He really appreciated that and said he would. We then saw him that Sunday and he came up to me and he said he was really proud of me and the spirit I bring and he's proud that I made the decision to go on a mission. I was super stoked and really appreciated it. I hope he is able to be baptized soon because his testimony is so powerful and he's an awesome guy!

Iaesha's Baptism:
LET'S GO Iaesha got baptized! It took a while and there were a lot of struggles but we all finally made it happen! It was so cool and I was so happy for Iaesha and so many of her family and friends showed up. It was amazing. It was also a bit of a surprise to have our mission president pull up and I had to recite the first vision in front of him. It was a bit nerve-racking, sike. But jokes aside it was a lot of fun and I'm super happy for her!

I MET SOMEONE WHO COULD SPEAK JAPANESE:
So me and Elder Peña pull up to an “island” themed Christmas party. Yeah it was Hawaii themed, and it was wack but that's okay it's all in good fun. Food was gas so I'll let it slide (a Samoan family in the ward made it). But we were walking around and I saw a Japanese lady out of the corner of my eye. Now after quite a few let downs, I wasn't gonna go up to her and be all like 日本語を話すことができますか? I've been let down too many times. But she saw my tag and started talking to me. IT WAS LIT, I was so excited but long story short I get to actually practice Japanese pretty soon because I've been slacking not gonna lie.
