Week 17- A totally boring email with NO updates

I'm honestly really tired and it's been super busy, so this'll be short but this week was a blast. This week was great from two exchanges in a row, finding new people to teach, putting someone on date and a bit more. So I'll just go over all the awesomes of the week and one low. Sorry no essay on my spiritual thoughts, I know some of you really look forward to it.

Highlights:

Exchanges:
GAS GAS GAS, but it was super tiring. Went on exchanges for 3 days straight and got to go with one of the most obedient missionaries I know right now and my zone leader. It was a lot of fun to effectively do a ton of missionary work and really just be with other missionaries and see how they teach and how different they are. It was also super cool to talk to them and get to know them better. It was super tiring though because I scheduled a ton of stuff for us to do, especially with the zone leader. But super gas honestly.

New Friend:

While on exchanges we had a member message. We had invited this family to bring a non member that they were close with and they followed through. Honestly it was super funny because me and the zone leader (Elder Ma'ake) went to the non members house to kinda check if he was going and the parents said he was already at the member's house. We instantly changed our plan from a message to a lesson of the restoration which probably wouldn't have happened if we didn't check. We taught a gas lesson and asked if Scotty wanted to meet with us again. So we got a return date and it'll be with the awesome member family again too! Super stoked because I definitely saw God's hand in that lesson. 

On date:

Put Roxii on date for February 10th!! Let's goooooo! Technically the first person I ever put on date during my mission which is super sweet. Super pumped to see Roxii get baptized!

District leader training + Zone council:

So yeah we went to a District Leader training meeting thing that leadership has to do and all the companions chill outside while the zone leaders meet. Anyways I was chilling with Elder Willis and I hear President's voice on the phone with my companion talking about me and I kinda was like uh oh and went to go see what's up. BAM, I got my VISA. LETS GOOOOOOOO! I was so stoked. Then literally the next day we had Zone Council and the APs and President pull up and I'm again like uh oh what's happening. The APs were just there to audit our phones which was chill. But towards the end of ZC, President just tapped my shoulder and told me he needed to speak with me outside. I again just looked at everyone else and thought I was a goner or something LOL, nope he just let me know I LEAVE FEBRUARY 12TH LESSS GOOO!! I was so so grateful, I love the UOM but I feel so much relief to know that there's a light and the end of the tunnel. It also makes Japan feel super real. So I'm really gonna try and savor my time here in Utah but I'm really super looking forward to Japan. And on top of that I should be on the plane with my cousin Elder Medeiros LETS GOOOOO! Super stoked honestly. Oh also the Mission President called me a light to the mission, which was cool I think. 

Meh moment:

THE SNOW THE SNOW THE SNOW. NO NO NO GO AWAY. I wanted to get out of here before I had to walk in the snow but nope. Snowstorm this week, oh well it'll be fine it's just a meh I'd rather not. But that's my little tidbit low this week.

  Aloha 皆、 Sorry no email last week I don't know why but I didn't feel like it. Also this one is kinda long, and pretty personal so feel free to read 'em, or don't. God gave us agency. Going off of my last email. Talking about growing through trials, one of the main reasons I came out on my mission was extremely selfish. I just wanted/needed to be a better person. I think God has a pretty funny sense of humor because it was like “ok wish granted” and smacked me in the Utah Orem mission. But while I was on my mission in Utah I was obsessed with becoming this better person. Looking back, I think I was so obsessed with being this “better person” because I felt like I had to prove my worth to others that I had hurt. Or who knew these terrible things I had done. Week 69- Moving backwards or forward

  Aloha 皆さん、 Join da Google photos https://photos.app.goo.gl/2tYzpjfjReZvcoCs7 Recently I've been feeling very stuck. Like I'm not progressing or moving forward just as a person, as a whole. It was a really crappy feeling but I kinda wasn't doing anything about it.  I was too lazy to get in the grinder of working out everyday. Even when I did I let one bad day stop me from working out everyday. I was letting my scripture study be complacent, not focusing and being as diligent as I used to be during personal study. And just overall got into a rhythm of saying the same things in my prayers.  Honestly I don't remember if I read this in a Devotional or heard it from someone but it's about moving forward or backwards. We as disciples of Christ do things everyday/week that helps us come closer to God and Jesus Christ. We can pray, study the scriptures, repent, go to church, be kind to others. Week 85- I feel like an old sage

  Aloha 皆さん、 Life update: We just had transfers and yup, im still in Kumamoto. I'm also still a ZL (for the 6th transfer). I feel like I'm an old sage. Just kinda existing, biding and waiting for my time to die.  I'm actually super glad though that I didn't transfer because the past transfer has been a blast. The college group that we have been playing sports with (soccer and volleyball) has been awesome. We've started teaching a couple of them and they really are progressing.  This transfer is a 7 week transfer which normally probably feel very long but genuinely love the area, my comp, and the friends we have so it'll probably fly by.  No real crazy stories or anything.
