Week 27- Rice is life
Aloha 皆さん、
I didn't write my email on Sunday like normal because I was crazy busy so no super profound thought this week sorry! I will share a quick scripture and invite you all to ponder it :)
1 My son (daughter), give ear to my words, for I say unto you, even as I said unto Helaman, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land; and inasmuch as ye will not keep the commandments of God ye shall be cut off from his presence.
2 And now, my son (daughter), I trust that I shall have great joy in you, because of your steadiness and your faithfulness unto God; for as you have commenced in your youth to look to the Lord your God, even so I hope that you will continue in keeping his commandments; for blessed is he that endureth to the end.
3 I say unto you, my son (daughter), that I have had great joy in thee already, because of thy faithfulness and thy diligence, and thy patience and thy long-suffering among the people of the Zoramites.
4 For I know that thou wast in bonds; yea, and I also know that thou wast stoned for the word’s sake; and thou didst bear all these things with patience because the Lord was with thee; and now thou knowest that the Lord did deliver thee.
5 And now my son (daughter), (your name), I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
6 Now, my son (daughter), I would not that ye should think that I know these things of myself, but it is the Spirit of God which is in me which maketh these things known unto me; for if I had not been born of God I should not have known these things.
Email me your thoughts :p

ZL EXCHANGE:
RAHHHHH I finally got to go out of Fukuoka for the first time. It was great I got to be comps with Elder Haggerman and we had a blast. He's in a inaka area (countryside) so it was mad different from the city which was so awesome. Elder Haggerman was telling me about American missionary privilege in Japan and how when we speak English to Japanese people it's a 90% chance they'll say something back. He showed me by talking to this one college kid on the train and the kid was playing yugioh, Elder Haggerman had no idea what that was but I'm an omega geek and had an 30 minute conversation with this dude about yugioh LOL. He didn't want my line though which sucked. But Elder Haggerman was great he taught me a lot about being a missionary in Japan since I'm still adjusting styles and trying to find my own way of doing work here. I digress. It was fun.
We ran out of rice:
Put a Japanese and Hawaiian together and what do you get? A companionship that eats too much rice. We didn't buy groceries last day since we ran outta time so we ran outta rice. It was low-key miserable and we ate a lot of Ramen this week BUT we were blessed up last night by a member dropping off a 5 kilo bag of rice. THANK YOU! Anyways, I need to get my diet back on track cause I had like no motivation last week to work out since I was low-key eating junk.
Sports:
FINALLY, we played futsal again. It was soo much fun, I love soccer and it's always fun to play sports while building a good relationship with our friends. It was also great to just talk about soccer with the members and friends at the activity. Also side note I need to get better at basketball because we kinda play a lot and our friend Hirotaka loves basketball. Also I hope we have another volleyball activity soon. Anyways yeah tons of sports and I'm so grateful to be able to play and do missionary work!
I GOT TO TEACH IN ENGLISH:
Finally! I love teaching in Japanese but Heavenly Father definitely nerfed me with Japanese because I have to teach a lot more simply in Japanese. Sometimes it's such a good strength to have especially because we have to start from the ground up with most of our friends but sometimes it's really frustrating wanting to say something but not knowing how. Anyways Fukuoka Elders 2 had a lesson and left their friend from Sri Lanka with us. He had so many questions about Jesus Christ and the differences between the Christian Church and it was such an awesome experience teaching him about the restoration and the atonement. It was great explaining to him about Jesus dying for our sins and suffering and the spirit was so strong. He was so grateful to us for spending so much time with him. He's definitely a golden friend. I'm jealous the other Elders found him first but that just means I need to lock in more with facebook finding.
Zoo Pday:
Finally went to the Zoo. It was pretty cool to see a lot of animals I've never seen in person before! Had a blast and the weather is starting to cool down so it was super chill today. Bunch of pictures on the photo album so join if you haven't otherwise, あなたは私の的ですよ。
That's all, email me fr fr I love to hear from all of you! It definitely makes me super happy :)
