Week 32- Finding Joy

Image
YOOOOO 皆さん、 BROOO ITS BEEN A GREAT WEEK. Tons of super cool stuff has happened and transfers happened so lots of new changes.  Recently our mission has been focusing on finding joy in our work. Which is awesome. You think of serving a mission and you just think of sharing messages and lessons and revolving your whole life around God. Which nor gonna lie kinda sounds like a major bummer to a 20 year old male whose attention span lasts a whole 30 seconds. But recently with the whole new focus on finding joy in our work through obedience, diligence, and faith I've come to recognize the difference between finding joy and just having fun. For example, I have fun when I play sports, watch TV, read books and so on. But does joy come from that? Joy lasts and stays, joy doesn't stop when we turn off the TV, or the music, or stop playing sports. But having fun does stop. Don't get me wrong I still LOVE having fun. But I can find JOY through bringing my friends closer to Christ, and...

Week 31- Efforts have blossomed

Image
Aloha 皆さん、 https://photos.app.goo.gl/2tYzpjfjReZvcoCs7 This week I'll just share that EVERYTHING is in God's timing and things happen for a reason. We have to have patience so that even when times are hard we can keep pushing forward. Our efforts will blossom and just because things are hard at the moment or you don't see immediate results doesn't mean your effort is going to waste! HIGHLIGHTS: -Golden referral! -Drivers license  -Saturday Activities -Friends progressing! Golden Referral: So we got this referral for someone who wanted to do a Jkaiwa (Japanese speaking class) which is pretty standard since my companion is Japanese so it's easier for us to teach those. We thought it was gonna be a normal no answer or someone not super interested in the Gospel but more wanting to learn Japanese. But when we set up the appointment we were surprised a 15 year old girl from China pulled up speaking pretty much fluent Japanese. We were like “sooo why did you want to meet...

Week 30- Planning Ahead

Image
Aloha 皆さん、 Not gonna lie I'm pretty awful at planning ahead. So basically among other things planning wise one thing I'm pretty bad at is watching spending habits. How Mission Money works is every month they give us money on a debit card twice. Generally on the 1st and 16th ish? I need to figure out when exactly because the last time we received money it came a couple days earlier than it was supposed to and that money is supposed to be used on food, cleaning supplies, etc. Basically essentials and don't worry I AM spending it on essentials. However I don't know somehow in my 面白い brain I thought I only had 2 p-days (preparation days) before the next period. So I copped a ton of quality meat and ate out a little more than I should have. Anyways I'll be making food for the next week LOL. As I've grown up I've begun to realize how important planning really is. When it comes to anything. Especially when it comes to goals or self improvement. I can go around sayi...

Week 29- Hunt for the one piece

Image
Aloha 皆さん、 This week was crazyyy. So recently I got into the one piece card game which is super fun (idk if you could tell from my Google photos album) and it's been great. I've found so much more joy in finding and talking to people! At least for me it's super easy because I literally can just geek out with these people I meet at card shops whether it be one piece, yugioh or Pokémon. I have some sort of common ground with people to talk about! It allows me to relax more when talking to them and brings me confidence and joy to talk about things I genuinely love. It reminds me again about the talent parable… Quick rundown: A Lord gives one servant 5 talents, one servant two and the last servant one talent. He told them to go forth. The servant with five talents returns and brings back the Lord 10 talents doubling what he was given. The servant with 3 talents came back with 6. But the servant given one talent buried his talent in fear of losing it and returned back with hi...
