Week 29- Hunt for the one piece

 Aloha 皆さん、

This week was crazyyy. So recently I got into the one piece card game which is super fun (idk if you could tell from my Google photos album) and it's been great. I've found so much more joy in finding and talking to people!

At least for me it's super easy because I literally can just geek out with these people I meet at card shops whether it be one piece, yugioh or Pokémon. I have some sort of common ground with people to talk about! It allows me to relax more when talking to them and brings me confidence and joy to talk about things I genuinely love. It reminds me again about the talent parable…

Quick rundown:

A Lord gives one servant 5 talents, one servant two and the last servant one talent. He told them to go forth. The servant with five talents returns and brings back the Lord 10 talents doubling what he was given. The servant with 3 talents came back with 6. But the servant given one talent buried his talent in fear of losing it and returned back with his singular talent. The lord conferred with his servants rewarding those who brought back more talents calling them faithful and diligent. The one who hid his talent away was cast out for being slothful and hiding away that which the Lord had blessed him with. 

Although in the parable the word talent is talking about money I like to see it as actual talents that the Lord blesses us with. We are to use those talents to cultivate and hone ourselves into better people. We use those talents for our benefit rather than hiding away what we were given out of fear or losing our talent or fear of failure due to our lack of abundance of talents. This parable shows us that when we use what we are blessed with we will be blessed by the lord but when we hide away and are fearful we are eating what the lord has blessed us with and will be punished. 

I feel as though this applies in a variety of ways but plug that into your life however you feel. Just recently I've felt so much joy in finding someone because of my “talents” and interest and have definitely been blessed through finding people and making that genuine connection with them based on our interest!

5 new people found:

Yeah so this week has been a blur. But we have been GRINDING. So to explain what a new person is it's basically we made a new friend! For it to count in the app thing we have we have to teach/talk to them about a principle, make a commitment with them (ex: meet with use again, pray, etc.) And set a next appointment. You'd think that would be easy but not really. ANYWAYS WE MET AND MADE 5 FRIENDS THIS WEEK WOOOOO. It's so hype and they're all great people. Loved talking with them and getting to know them overall as people. Recently we've been meeting super interesting people who have like no issue just chatting with us for hours about our beliefs and their own beliefs. It's been super cool cause that's so rare in Japan. But yeah was just hyped about that and wanted to share.

Protein:

Just wanted to shout out and thank my loving parents for providing me with a lively 72 serving tub of Banana cream whey protein. It's been heaven and I love banana cream protein so much. so just wanted to put a little thank you because that's a top tier grab for me 100%.

Medeiros 長老: 

For those of you who don't know, my Cousin is in the Japan Fukuoka mission with me and we came out together which was a fat coincidence. Finally got to see him after 5ever and we got the chance to go out and about and OYM (open your mouth) with each other. Basically just going around and talking to a bunch of people trying to make new friends. We went to a card shop and this is how the one piece card game addiction started. Copped a starter deck then met these two guys looking at yugioh cards and peeked out with them for a hot sec. Unfortunately Medeiros 長老 and his comp had to dip but still was super fun to go out and just see him and catch up again. Praying for a mission conference soon so I can see all the guys I was in the MTC with again. Love em all to death fr. Anyways love you cuzzo keep killing it fr. 

Okay Das it. We have a zone conference this week too so that will be super fun. But I seriously need time to slow down cause this transfer is already past the halfway mark and it's been way too fast.
