Week 43- Setbacks

I'm Supa lazy this week and we went to miyojima today so lowkey got no time. so short email today but choke stuff is happening with transfers and so on so next one will be longer probably…

Anyways I wanted to talk a little bit about setbacks this week. We had quite a bit of setbacks this week. With a baptism being postponed because the dad got sick and a friend lowkey freaking out on us it's been a tough week. But setbacks aren't permanent. It's so easy for us to be negative when we come face to face with setbacks, especially when it seems unfair. But if we focus on overcoming setbacks and working through them then we can overcome them instead of feeling self pity.

Seiya:

So this week we had lessons with Seiya almost every single day to prepare him for baptism. It was honestly super cool to see him become more excited day by day! He's such an awesome kid and he always has so many awesome questions for us. Honestly despite his shy nature he's super curious and listened intently to everything we shared with him. Unfortunately the day before the baptism his dad got sick so they postponed the baptism (his dad was going to baptize him). But we push through! I know he'll get baptized eventually and I'm stoked for the day he does!

Yoshimoto:

We had a lesson with Yoshimoto on Thursday and we thought it went really well. We talked a lot about forgiving others and relying on Christ. He seemed to enjoy it and wanted to work on his own emotions. The next day he spammed us with texts and lowkey was ranting about his life to us, he said he couldn't forgive people because he isn't like Jesus, and he didn't want to come to church. I was super worried but we were able to get him to come to our church's little potluck thing. He said he felt a warm feeling and he had fun meeting everyone so I'm super happy! We definitely have to work with him a lot and help him but I'm glad he's still willing to listen and try to grow.

Transfers:

We got transfers this week and we get calls tmrw, I doubt I'm going anywhere or anything is gonna change for me other than getting a new comp but always love to see new faces in the district and zone. Hopefully some old faces would be cool!

  Aloha 皆、 Sorry no email last week I don't know why but I didn't feel like it. Also this one is kinda long, and pretty personal so feel free to read 'em, or don't. God gave us agency. I think God has a pretty funny sense of humor because it was like “ok wish granted” and smacked me in the Utah Orem mission. Week 69- Moving backwards or forward

It was a really crappy feeling but I kinda wasn't doing anything about it.  I was too lazy to get in the grinder of working out everyday. Even when I did I let one bad day stop me from working out everyday. I was letting my scripture study be complacent, not focusing and being as diligent as I used to be during personal study. And just overall got into a rhythm of saying the same things in my prayers.  Honestly I don't remember if I read this in a Devotional or heard it from someone but it's about moving forward or backwards. We as disciples of Christ do things everyday/week that helps us come closer to God and Jesus Christ. We can pray, study the scriptures, repent, go to church, be kind to others. Week 85- I feel like an old sage

  Aloha 皆さん、 Life update: We just had transfers and yup, im still in Kumamoto. I'm also still a ZL (for the 6th transfer). I feel like I'm an old sage. Just kinda existing, biding and waiting for my time to die.  I'm actually super glad though that I didn't transfer because the past transfer has been a blast. The college group that we have been playing sports with (soccer and volleyball) has been awesome. We've started teaching a couple of them and they really are progressing.  This transfer is a 7 week transfer which normally probably feel very long but genuinely love the area, my comp, and the friends we have so it'll probably fly by.  No real crazy stories or anything.
