Week 66- Going Cold Turkey

 Aloha 皆さん,

So we had Zone conference this past week. With the end of zone conference the busy transfer is finally winding down. No more exchanges or any big meetings. I can chill for about a week and a half and do normal good ol’ mission work.

But of course with Zone conference comes President interviews and bruh😭

Nothing crazy went down like extending for another 6 months but prez Boss was telling me about all the juicy stuff in the mission (people going home early, areas opening, future zone plans, etc.) It was kinda crazy. We are talking about different things that are happening, just kinda chatting, but then he drops a bomb outta left field.

“You're gonna need to stop this monster thing though”

Bro who snitched.

I swear my parents have been praying for this day, (as I write this email my mom emailed me to lay off the monsters😭) but I just accepted my fate at that point.

今からモンスター飲みません。。(多分)

From this point I won't drink monsters (probably)

Maybe it's time to convert to red bull…. Just kidddinnggg.

In our mission Google drive there's a document called “A Consecrated Missionary”. Unironically I was reading it and it says:

What is a Consecrated Missionary?

What is a consecrated missionary? It is a missionary who is willing to lay everything on the altar of sacrifice and to hold nothing back. It is a willingness to give every ounce of energy, every conscious thought, and every drop of passion to this work – to submit our will to God’s will whatever it may be.

Now okay, I don't know exactly if me not drinking monsters is apart of God's will or not. But what I do know is that the prophet and Qurom of the 12 is called of God. And they called my mission President. And he told me to stop drinking monsters😭

Obviously it's not just monster but there's all sorts of stuff that needs to be put aside during my time as a missionary. It's not all easy but I'll get there eventually.

Submitting our will to God is probably one of the hardest things to do, because the only thing stopping us from doing that is our pride. Stopping us from being meek and knowing that Gods plan for us is better than what we may think. Even if it includes doing (or not doing) stuff that aligns with God's will.

I have to stop drinking monsters for another 9 months (probably) so I feel ventilated to ask everyone to reevaluate what they still need to put on the alter and give up.

Highlights:

-last exchange
-Zone conference
-Costco
-Hair Dye

Last exchange:

Last exchange with the nakatsu Elders. I love Santos 長老, exchanges with him are always fun. We did a lot of OYM and kinda just explored Japan. It was really nice. He also makes the best food fr, we also ordered pizza and talked all night. Exchanges really are super fun but it was nice that it was the last one for the transfer.

Zone conference:

We had Zone conference. It was also nice for us to be the last zone conference so we got more prep. I'm not gonna lie idk if our training was good or not but hopefully people had fun! It was fun to talk to some awesome missionaries. The zone is really awesome right now!

Costco:

We went to Costco with our friend for pday! we got some pizza and seasonal Costco foods and bought groceries. It was pretty expensive for missionary standards but it was good to get some good food. Hopefully I don't get transferred, but if I do I'll just eat it all😋 (I got a 1.5 kilo bag of frozen mango🙌

Hair dye:

Decided to Dye my hair brown. I highlighted it a bit in college but we will see how it turns out. Never let me get too bored I guess😭

Kay ran out of time

Shoots!

愛してるよ~
